Check out our new and improved bios and headshots, including an important inclusion of Kat’s M.P.S.E. accreditation and a major update on our “intern” Sorren, who has grown considerably since the last headshot we had up. I also put together a mobile friends landing page, so check out our site on your phone, too. Or if you are on your phone, our credit roll is gone (the code never worked on mobile so it just cluttered up the home page considerably) and you can see it (also updated recently) on our desktop site.

you could be here

This could be your view at your next mix, except with Tor & Kat in the seats instead of having them empty. And with your movie up on the screen instead of 2 Years 8 Days.

IMG_1627Yeah, that’s right, we now have a dedicated computer for each of our re-recording mixers. We had the idea one day when we were moving the ADR stage from I-25 Studios to Albuquerque Studios for a session out there. The whole ADR rig became portable at the beginning of the most recent season of The Night Shift and we’ve gotten to the point where we can wrap an actor at one location and two hours later be recording an actor across town at the other location. If we could do that, sure we could move the ADR rig on to the mix stage for a two-mixer setup. Right? To quote Apocalypse Now, “absolutely god damned right” we can. The first time it took about 2 hours, and that included a lot of troubleshooting, so we’ll probably have that time down to about an hour pretty soon.

Boo-yah!

good to be busy…

In this past week, we worked with the lovely and talented Todd Marcinkiewicz at 3Bicycles on the new front page you can see here (looking forward to working with him on some more design enhancements we have in mind), walked a bunch of Foley for the film adaptation of Planting Seeds by Thich Naht Hanh, started work on a short documentary about an excellent photographer who lives in New Mexico (not sure we can brag about just how excellent this photographer is, but we will as soon as we’re sure we’re allowed to), recorded voice-over for a commercial being produced in Boston, bid a feature doc that’s really cool (again, we’ll tell more when we can), had a meeting in Santa Fe about another really exciting feature doc project, booked 2 ADR sessions for Monday, and it looks like we’re going to bid a Foley feature job later today…. wow, no wonder we’re tired. We hope you had a productive week, too, and have a restful weekend.

I don’t think we can say enough how much we are loving working with the incomparable Ralph Bakshi, his son Eddie, and the whole team on Last Days of Coney Island.

The Boss

One of the nice features of our old web site was that Rimsky, the real boss of Hear Kitty Studios, was prominently featured on the site. He is currently prominently featured on our facebook page (facebook.com/HearKittyStudios), but there weren’t enough pictures of him here, which is why I’m posting these:

Yup. We’re on Twitter & Facebook, too.
