“Kathleen [Edwards, M.P.S.E.] is a brilliant sound designer[,] one [of] if not the best ive ever worked with in Hollywood[.] working with her and Tor made this mix on last days a perfect  design for the feeling of brooklyn I had in mind[.]  Hear Kitty, this studio is  located in new Mexico far away from bklyn and they nailed it[.]”
~ Ralph Bakshi, legendary animator and director, Last Days of Coney Island

Louis Armstrong once said “if it sounds good, it is good.” Hear Kitty Studios is dedicated to that philosophy and to making the world sound better. Our specialty is one-stop-shopping for audio post production: bring us edited picture with rough dialog and temp music, and we’ll give you a cohesive, lush soundscape. Of course, all of our services are also available à la carte:

  • ADR specialists (VO, too!)
  • remote workflows:
    Source Connect/phone patch/Skype/&c.
  • supervising or supervised sound editorial
  • final re-recording mix mono to 5.1
ready to upgrade to 7.1 or Dolby Atmos
  • sound design & custom sound effects
  • full service Foley
  • print mastering & deliverables
  • music production & composition
  • audio “sweetening”
  • radio and podcast production services

Not in New Mexico for post? No problem: we have established tried and true internet workflows enabling us to collaborate with producers all over the world. No matter how large or small your project, we can make it sound good, and you know what Louis says about that.

This gear is being sold by a friend-of-a-friend (well, friend of many friends, more accurately). We don’t need any of it right now, but perhaps you do: http://albuquerque.craigslist.org/pho/5901147102.html

TLM 67 vs 170
February 10th, 2015 by

We’ve used–and loved–the Neumann TLM 170, but just talked to a mixer on L.A. who recommended the TLM 67, which neither of us knows first hand. We’d love your comments on it. Seems like a big step up from the TLM 103, especially in have omni and figure-8 patterns, but how dues it compare to the sound of the 170?

we’re sound people, not web experts…
October 8th, 2012 by

We finally got around to updating the front page and it took considerably longer than seemed necessary…. Now I’m trying to get the facebook integration back… like buttons, etc. We had those all working smoothly, but it looks like facebook changed something and now I’m scrambling up the learning curve again.

The whole experience reminded me that we don’t post very often (hardly at all) to this page, and should consider doing so now and then. Which is what you’re reading now: a token post to our web site. Thanks for reading. I think I’m pretty good at using Facebook and Twitter differently to reward people who both “follow” and “like” us, but I’m still working at using this web site in a way that might provide different information than people can get on the social networks. I’ll keep trying.

  • Spoke too soon… that download I found so "easily" on @AvidProTools web site is wrong. To the DUC! (Where I can find real help from users.) #

  • Tonight's episode of #GoOn ended with a brilliant sound design solo–it's nice to hear 2 episodes into a show with a blind character. #
